Flash’s Du Forum, managed by Global Spectrum, have taken the initiative to provide a number of summer events in their indoor air conditioned multipurpose venue. Catering for all genres, both Flash and Global Spectrum are hosting Arabic concerts, illusionists, a comedy night and a variety of theatre shows for children.
Delta Sound were asked to install the venue owned L-Acoustics K2 system and to provide a control package to accommodate the concerts as well as the very much anticipated comedy evening, hosting a variety of local and international performers.
The system installed is based around two hangs of eight L-Acoustics K2 cabinets per side. Each hang was flown over two points in line with the 12m x 8m venue owned stage. Six 12XT cabinets were used as front-fills ensuring those who braved the front rows could hear every word of the comedians. Eight L-Acoustics SB28 sub cabinets were installed in a horizontal arc configuration, ensuring an even sub pattern across the venue. Two hangs of four L-Acoustic dV-DOSC cabinets were used as delays covering the seated grandstand. The system was powered using L-Acoustics LA8 racks.
An Avid Profile console was used at FOH. Meyer Sound Galileo 616 units were used to control the outputs to the PA as well as Record feeds. Tascam playback units covered the various walk-in music as well as artist requirements. Delta used the Smaart analyser system to time-align and EQ the elements that made up the entire system.
A Yamaha PM5D-RH was used as the monitor console controlling the 115XT HiQ wedges on stage. Four ARCS and additional SB28 subs were used as stage side-fills. Once again, all powered using LA8 amplifiers.
Shure wireless and wired mics together with a variety of Sennheiser and DPA mics were used to cover all the instruments and vocal requirements for the events.
