With a digital exhibition currently on at Somerset House, Björk decided whilst she was in London to put on a on-off show at the Royal Albert Hall, with Delta providing full technical back up. Due to the speed of the show selling out, Björk also decided to put on another show at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith, again with Delta supplying the equipment.
For both shows, Björk was accompanied by the 30 piece string section of the Aurora Orchestra, who were mic’d using Schoeps as well as DPA 4099′s for the leads. Conducted by Andrew Gourlay, the orchestra helped her performance produce a very different atmosphere than her usual electronic sounds.
Armed simply with a Shure SM58, Björk’s voice echoed around the room, with Engineer Elaine Duffy saying it was one of the best audience reactions she’d seen at the hall for a long time!
