Recently we were underneath the hull of the iconic Cutty Sark for the Belmond Corporate Party.

Belmond Ltd, is a global collection of exceptional hotel and luxury travel adventures in some of the world’s most inspiring and enriching destinations. Established almost 40 years ago with the acquisition of Hotel Cipriani in Venice, the Company owns and operates 46 unique and distinctive hotel, rail and river cruise experiences in many of the world’s most celebrated destinations.

For this year’s annual event we were asked to provide a full technical service including audio, visual, and staging along with, dinner, dancefloor and architectural lighting. We loved transforming this incredible space for Belmond, using shades of indigo and fuchsia as the main colour scheme to illuminate the hull, along with moving lights with gobo projection. The brass hull of the famous vessel creates a perfect reflective surface for an elegant ambiance and makes filling such a large area with colour all the more satisfying.

The space within the Cutty Sark museum is over 65m long! We therefore needed to use a large distribution of speakers to cover the entire event space as using a single point source wouldn’t give the desired effect.
