Here’s the fun stuff! New and exciting technology for the Live Events Industry

Below are some of the ‘here and now’ technologies. Working with our clients we are developing and delivering a more interesting, more immersive listening experience.

Now we can stream high-quality real-time audio directly to a user’s smartphone or tablet. The technology works well within fixed installations such as museums, bars, restaurants and a range of other environments and applications. The user downloads and installs the event app and simply connects to the structured Wifi Network. The app can be customised and also contain user content with updates being pushed continually.

Producing immersive content is a new and exciting way of working, creating immersive live music experiences and delivering full emotional impact to musicians and listeners alike. We have been using the Sennheiser AMBEO VR Mic which works in First Order Ambisonics. The microphone has four identical condenser capsules in a tetrahedral cluster with a native Ambisonics A-format output, delivering a 3D audio experience on headphones or loudspeakers.

We have invested in real-time media networks. MediorNet is a cost-effective and easy-to-use technology which introduces clients into to a world of integrated media signal distribution and processing. It is the first fibre-based system that provides the flexibility of a true real-time media network including integrated signal processing at the cost of simple multiplexing point-to-point products.

With a network bandwidth of 50 GBps, MediorNet provides enough capacity for bi-directional transport of 12 HD-SDI signal, dozens of MADI streams or GBit-Ethernet signals and hundreds of audio channels or intercom ports – ideal for streamlining the infrastructure of any mobile, studio or live event application.

There is probably no other market area with a more obvious need for 3D spatial sound than Virtual Reality. In order to maximise the immersive experience the audio must also be spatial. No matter whether you are producing immersive content for VR goggles, or some form of other content we have been working with clients to create some pretty impressive and immersive soundtracks.

We have created some Binaural recordings for live events. Binaural recording is a method of recording sound that uses two microphones, arranged with the intent to create a 3D stereo sound sensation for the listener of actually being in the room with the performers or instruments. Although it’s been around for a long time, it’s becoming a very popular way to work, combined with 3rd party plugin’s etc
