Tate Galleries

The Tate galleries form two of London’s most prestigious and esteemed cultural landmarks. Located on either side of the River Thames, the Tate Modern and Tate Britain house rare collections of the world’s most revered and celebrated artworks, drawing visitors in their millions year on year.

Both venues offer a number of exceptional venue spaces for both corporate and private venues alike, and DeltaLive is delighted to have been an accredited full production supplier since 2008.

Home to the greatest collection of British art in the world, Tate Britain is one of London’s most architecturally rich venues. This Grade II listed building offers diverse entertaining spaces, ranging from classical and formal to contemporary galleries.

Gallery 9 is Tate Britain’s showcase gallery, a beautiful high-ceilinged room steeped in history. Dine surrounded by masterpieces of British art, including works by Gainsborough, Hogarth and Millais, hung in the style of a stately home. Grand yet welcoming, prestigious yet full of personality, Gallery 9 is the perfect place for an unforgettable event and can host a reception for 300 or dining for 200 people.

The Sackler Octagon features soaring arches and a vaulted ceiling, bringing a sense of occasion to your event. At the heart of the neo-classical Duveen Galleries, the Octagon is the best place from which to view Tate’s latest special commission. Guests will also be able to enjoy private views of the world-renowned Tate collection. The Sackler Octagon houses 300 guests as a reception or 120 dining.

The Grand Saloon encapsulates Tate Britain’s elegance with its domed windows facing the river, spectacular high ceiling and unique floor a 1920’s inspired design. Host 120 guests as a reception, 80 for dinner or 50 for lunch.

The Djanogly Café boasts an elegant vaulted ceiling and light coloured stone, which create a feeling of warmth and intimacy for receptions and dinners alike. The serene terrace offers the perfect opportunity for alfresco entertainment, set back from the bustle of Millbank and the Thames. Host 150 guests for a reception or 100 for dinner.

The Manton Foyer is light, airy and modern, an ideal for a reception for up to 300 guests. The sleek limestone floor and crisp architectural detailing give this space an understated elegance that will add to any event. And your guests will have an exclusive opportunity to see the current major exhibition without the crowds.

The Rex Whistler Restaurant was once described as “the most amusing room in Europe”, as it is home to Rex Whistler’s famous 1927 mural The Expedition in Pursuit of Rare Meats. It’s perfect for a dinner for up to 80. This refined room can be transformed to meet your requirements, and can host a reception for up to 120. Guests can also spill out onto the lawn at the front of the gallery, and al fresco dining can be arranged.

Tate Modern, meanwhile, displays the national collection of international modern art and offers sixteen sleek, contemporary entertaining spaces and stunning views across the city’s skyline.

The Turbine Hall & Bridge are one of the most iconic urban spaces in the world. Ever since Tate Modern opened in 2000, it has hosted spectacular works by the world’s best artists, including Ai Weiwei’s Sunflower Seeds and Olafur Eliasson’s Weather Project. Tate corporate supporters have the exclusive opportunity to entertain here. The Bridge which spans The Turbine Hall is available throughout the year, offering a panoramic view of the entire space. On occasions when there are no exhibits in The Turbine Hall itself, you can make use of the whole space, scaling your event up to 1,500 for a reception and 800 for dinner.

The East Room defining feature is the view – high up on the top floor of the Boiler House, enjoy a panoramic sweep of the London skyline from St Paul’s to the Shard. During the day, it is flooded with natural daylight, bright and airy; at night the city lights make the view unforgettable. One of the Tate Modern’s most popular venues, The East Room is a blank canvas ideal for presentations, receptions or dining, and can be combined with a private view of our galleries. Host a presentation for 100 guests, reception for 150 or dining for 100.

The Kitchen & Bar is an ideal location atop the Tate Modern’s Boiler House when the sun sets over the River Thames. This bustling restaurant transforms’ into a sleek and stylish space with floor-to-ceiling windows, rough-cut unpolished oak floors, and a specially commissioned mural by a contemporary artist. It is a spacious and completely flexible venue for a reception of up to 300 guests or dinner for up to 200.

The Starr Cinema & Foyer is located at the heart of Tate Modern and is one of London’s largest and most luxurious screening rooms. Fully equipped with state of the art digital projection and audio systems, the Starr Cinema has everything you need for a presentation or screening for up to 234 guests. Complementing the auditorium is the Starr Cinema Foyer, perfect for registration, catering, breakouts and receptions.

The Photography Gallery creates an unforgettable event setting. Invite your guests to dine and network amongst a photography display of works by Bernd and Hilla Becher. For art and photography lovers and novices alike, being surrounded by such a collection of artworks will be sure to inspire conversation and debate. This intimate and tranquil gallery can seat 80 people for dinner or hold receptions for up to 120.

The Tanks (East and South) are the world’s first gallery space to be dedicated to live art. Raw, versatile, circular and unique, neither white cube nor black box, they provide an entirely new type of space for Tate Modern. No longer generators of electrical energy, they are instead generators of ideas and creative energy, providing new possibilities for events; ideal for conferences, product launches and unique parties. As the world’s first space for live art, an extensive arts programme will be enjoyed by our visitors in this space, therefore all corporate entertaining takes place outside of these periods. At its fullest capacity, The Tanks can accommodate up to 600 guests for a reception and 400 guests for a conference or dinner.

The South Room is Tate Modern’s only space dedicated to events. In the heart of Blavatnik Building, this private space gives you the freedom to create an event to suit your bespoke requirements and realise your client engagement needs. This level is ideal for learning conferences, product launches, daytime events and also evening receptions and dinners. The building’s high ceilings and modern architecture can be seen at their best in this space. Creating a flexible, light and airy environment within a truly innovative, inspiring and forward thinking organisation; the ideal setting for any event.

The Level 10 Viewing Terrace sits proudly atop the gallery that has so significantly shaped public understanding and enjoyment of modern and contemporary art. The Viewing Terrace is the ultimate reception or dinner space with ever changing views of London. This light filled space with beautiful external terrace is simply perfect for receptions for up to 150 guests and dinner for 80.

The Level 2 Concourse is right in the middle of the galleries, and has everything that makes Tate Modern unique – high ceilings, industrial heritage and contemporary art and architecture. A reception for up to 300 people can be held in this flexible space. The event also includes a private view of the changing collection galleries, featuring work by the likes of Miró, Dalí and Picasso.

The Level 3 Concourse gives your guests exclusive access to our newest collection display. A special feature of this space is the two intimate alcoves, each with its own balcony overlooking the river. These can be used for smaller events, such as a dinner for 80, or as part of the larger space for receptions for up to 400.
