Introducing DeltaLive’s new sales & marketing director

With such a great start to the year, we decided that it was time to build on our current successes. So, we’re excited to introduce our new sales & marketing director, Jamie Brewer. Our team is important to us and we want you to get to know a bit more about who we are, because we’re not just machines typing away behind computers or strangers hanging from the ceiling rigging speakers.

Jamie joins DeltaLive with a wealth of experience in technology, broadcast, media and FMCG industries in both major and independent corporate environments. We know that Jamie will bring a vast amount of know-how, enhancing the DeltaLive dynamic.

How did you get into sales & marketing and how has that lead you to where you are today?
I started my career in the music industry as a musician originally and this led to working within music production and ultimately music and film distribution. I was lucky enough having worked at some independent film sales companies to secure a job at Warner Brothers and was able to be involved in the promotion of big feature films and TV shows. Starting out at such a major media business gave me a fantastic foundation in sales and marketing. I was then fortunate enough to start a sales role at Fremantle Media who had only just changed from Pearson Television and was involved in the rights promotion of the early format shows like Popstars The Rivals, Pop Idol and X Factor alongside Talkback Thames shows, as well as films and documentaries from third party producers. Having been involved in sales and marketing across film, music and video games, I was able to develop commercial skills across the production area. Working on a contract helping Presteigne Broadcast develop their production technology business, has now lead me to be a part of the further growth for DeltaLive.

What do you hope to do with the role?
DeltaLive have a fantastic reputation within audio production solutions, communications and sound design. I am looking forward to using some of the commercial skills I have, to help improve the existing client relationships and drive DeltaLive’s ever growing offer with customers.

Being new to the company, what was it that most excited you by DeltaLive… why did you take the position?
DeltaLive are involved in so many diverse projects including productions in major venues and beautiful cultural environments. From major music events to annual cultural events and supporting brands and partners in delivering great audio solutions at their events. Getting a chance to be involved with this, at a turning point for the company, is really exciting and I jumped at the opportunity to be a part of it.

What do you do in your spare time?
I have a young family so most of my spare time is taken up spending as much time as possible with my wife Emily and my two children Alexa and Barnaby. I am a big music and film fan which has been enhanced through my career. I like to listen to a whole range of different things and with the access to content, there is just so much choice. When possible I like to get the chance to sit down and enjoy a film or stream a new show. I also like to keep active and have run the London Marathon a couple of times, raising money for a local hospice. It was both incredibly hard but also amazingly rewarding and I like to try and keep the running up whenever possible.

Are you a dog or cat person?
I grew up with lots of animals as a child, my children are desperate for a dog so we will have to see….

Favourite concert or gig ever attended?
I am over the moon at the news of DeltaLive securing the deal to supply audio solutions at the Roundhouse and it brought back some great memories of when I was lucky enough to be invited to see Queens of The Stone Age there as part of the iTunes Festival. Amazing Night!

Who is still on your bucket-list of ‘must see’ bands and or performers?
I have been lucky to see some great gigs over the years – looking forward to perhaps getting a chance to see Loyle Carner at the Roundhouse soon? I was lucky enough to see The War on Drugs at the end of last year and I will be keeping my eyes peeled for when they are touring again. My favourite band is Led Zeppelin, and while I was lucky enough to go to the reunion show at the O2, and it was great to see Jason Bonham playing the drums, it would have been amazing to see his father, John Bonham playing. Sadly that will never happen. Prince is another artist whom I would have loved to have seen… perhaps in another life.

What might we not know about you?
After mucking about with an old snare drum as a child, when I was 12 years old I took up playing a full drum kit, which I still love to do when I get the chance… But maybe the neighbours might not agree 😉

Do be in touch if you’d like to chat to Jamie about any up-coming projects.
