Legoland “Ninjago”

Events, United Kingdom

Delta Sound are pleased to continue their long standing relationship with Legoland Windsor, providing audio services for their annual fireworks shows.  This years’ event was  themed around the Lego Ninjago series.

The Delta Communications truck was utilised as a base for show control, audio, pyrotechnics (by Titanium) and also for an outside broadcast by Legoland’s legendary resident DJ “Rick Montana”!

Delta provided a number of localised PA systems for the wide-scale audio coverage of the resort.  New for this year was the flagship L-Acoustics K2 line array system covering the “Miniland” area of the park, with up to 6000 audience for each show.

Sound Designer Dave Shepherd operated the show from a pair of Apple Mac Pro’s running QLab software.  Project Manager Griff Hewis was on site as Assistant Engineer. A fibre infrastructure was installed throughout the park to allow networked audio distribution from the truck control position utilising BSS Soundwebs.  The network also allowed local control of each area through a Meyer Sound Galileo controller, enabling iPad control of the system on a wifi network.

In the unlikely case of a network failure a backup IEM system was provided from the truck to cover the whole park.  An automatic switch would seamlessly switch audio to the backup system should the primary signal be lost.  Fortunately this backup was not required during any of the shows; the system performed flawlessly throughout!
