Taking place on the 15th of November at the vibrant Media City Amphitheatre, Delta Sound was recently appointed to deliver Dubai’s hottest new music festival, Party in the Park.
Organised by DGT Events, the live music festival offered three music stages, dozens of food outlets as well as numerous arts and crafts workshops.
The impressive line-up featured British indie band The Ting Tings, ex The Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft and the highlight of the event, pop singer Lily Allen.
Delta Sound supplied the full PA system for the main stage whilst also proving audio support for the smaller stages – of which there were three in total. Additionally, Delta provided full FOH control for the opening artists and RF for the main acts, including Lily Allen’s performance. Full compact audio systems were supplied to the Hype Dance arena, creating a club under the stars atmosphere and the Good Garden Acoustic stage for live bands.
For the main PA system, Delta Sound utilised its L-Acoustics K1 system accompanied with KARA cabinets. The configuration saw two K1-SB low extension cabinets with ten K1 cabs as the main Left/ Right PA hangs with three Kara loudspeakers per side used for downfill. For front-fill, twenty-four SB28 sub woofers and sixteen dV-DOSC loudspeakers were implemented. The whole system was powered by L-Acoustics LA-RAK and LA8 amplifiers.
Lily Allen’s performance was supported with a control package that included a DiGiCo SD5 and DiGiCo SD7 mixing desk, alongside an additional SD5 console used for front-of-house mixing and a DiGiCo SD8 as the house monitors console.
The monitor packages for all the acts performing on the Main Stage also came from L-Acoustics. Sixteen 115XT HiQs complimented the KUDO Sidefill. For Lily Allen`s production, an additional sixteen channels of Sennheiser 2050 IEM systems were supplied.
Away from the main stage, the Dance arena temp venue was equipped with a compact DiGiCo SD11, speaker-wise, three L-Acoustics Kudo boxes were used either side with SB218 subwoofers, powered by LA48 amplifiers. Monitoring consisted of six Kara.
“It’s been a busy couple of days getting the setup done, but the show has gone very smooth” Says Craig Harvey, Senior Engineer looking after monitoring systems throughout the festival. “The productions that have come through over the weekend have been a real pleasure to work with.”
