Despite the hot temperatures, the long summer months are coming to an end in Dubai.

One of the events to kick off the new season was Spandau Ballet, one of Britain’s great iconic bands who brought their “Soul Boys of the Western World” tour to Dubai World Trade Centre.

Done Events contracted Delta Sound to provide a full audio package for the show that took place in the Sheikh Rashid Hall.

Delta engineers delivered a package that comprised of PA with control and monitors. The seating layout included an elevated VIP balcony area, which also needed to be taking in to account when designing the audio system.

The main PA system was L-Acoustics K1 with Kara units for the front fills and Kudo boxes for side fills. For the low end 24 L’Acoustic SB28s were used in sub arc configuration.

The FOH console was our AVID Venue Profile with Waves 9 plug-ins as requested by the touring production team; on monitors Delta supplied the Yamaha PM5D. The whole system was run via LA8 amplifiers and controlled through our LA Network Manager.

It looks like Spandau Ballet’s glory days are far from over.
