At the beginning of April we provided production for a series of Disney themed events at the wonderful Wallace Collection, celebrating the launch of their newest exhibition, Inspiring Walt Disney: The Animation of French Decorative Arts.
The Wallace Collection is one of the most beautifully grand venues in London, so we chose tasteful lighting that highlighted and accentuated the grandeur of it’s spaces.
Upstairs in the iconic Great Gallery, we provided a golden pattern wash to the ceiling, complemented with uplighting between the paintings. Together with stunning florals and candelabras as the centrepiece to each table, we transformed the Great Gallery into a magical scene reminiscent of Beauty and the Beast, taking the guests on a Disney inspired journey back to their childhoods.
The Courtyard was used as a reception setting with exclusive access to the exhibition. Guests were entertained with beautiful Disney inspired music by the BBK String Trio, and a combination of floral themed peach lighting washes to the floor and walls, with pastel pink uplighting highlighting the columns that encompass the room.
In collaboration with New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, the exhibition displays American 20th Century hand-drawn animation alongside French 18th Century art to reveal the surprising and enchanting connections between these two artistic movements.
The exhibition is running until 16th October 2022 so there’s plenty of time to visit and enjoy the outstanding artworks of the Wallace Collection and a perfect opportunity to entertain your guests alongside a private viewing of the life, charm and character of the Inspiring Walt Disney exhibition.
