Audio for the Esports Arena at ICE London 2020

DeltaLive were tasked by our client to provide a PA system for general coverage of the Esports Arena at ICE London 2020. Using a selection of L-Acoustics loudspeakers, we created a sound design to ensure optimum coverage within the arena.

Currently running from 4 – 6 February at Excel London, ICE is the Global Gaming Hub for all B2B industry experts. The show covers all forms of gaming from land-based to online with around 35 000 visitors. The Esports Arena features eight of the world’s greatest Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) teams for a closed tournament. So, it was imperative that the sound design was of the highest quality, maximising the audio in the space.

“As this was one of the largest stands in the venue, the sound design needed to be robust, focussing the audio down into the arena, whilst also being as inconspicuous as possible, so as not to interfere with the overall look and feel of the space or upset the neighbouring stands. Therefore, we chose to fly two small hangs of L-Acoustics KIVA loudspeakers. They are lightweight, compact and pack a punch for their size, making them perfectly suited for the needs of our client and the stand. These were complemented by a selection of additional L-Acoustics products to complete the design, along with a DiGiCo SD11 console to drive it all and a selection Shure Axient Digital wireless microphones.” Fraser Parr, Project Manager & Engineer at DeltaLive.
