Create Food and Party Design Venue Dinner

Events, UK

The annual Create Food and Party Design Venue Dinner is a jewel in the crown of London’s vibrant events industry. The flagship event and its outstanding menu have taken on legendary status amongst London’s events professionals and this year’s dinner was no exception. Taking place in the exceptional and wonderfully unique setting of the Cutty Sark in Greenwich, the evening played host to event professionals from over 40 of London’s most desirable venues. Sound By Design have had the pleasure of working with the very talented team at Create Food and Party Design on a number of exciting projects and were delighted to have been appointed as lead technical supplier to this industry-leading night.

For this event, Sound By Design delivered full technical production including sound, lighting and audio-visual services. Each individual technical element was designed by project manager Josh Wildenberg who, with his team of engineers, installed a bespoke audio system to provide clear, transparent sound for the live entertainment, back ground music and the evening’s speeches. Sound By Design also supplied two 65 inch plasma screens positioned in the centre of the venue for the rolling presentation which continued throughout the evening. For the lighting elements, the engineers installed wireless uplighters along the length of the venue which added splashes of colour further accentuating this dynamic venue space. For the final touch, the team implemented a customised lighting system on the top of the ship, draping the mast and sales in purple light, illuminating the venue from the outside also.

Working alongside exceptional event florists Hayford & Rhodes, furniture hire company; Great Hire, and event staffing company Esprit, the Cutty Sark was transformed into a stunning dining hall, elegantly decorated with magnificent floral displays. As guests entered, they were able to sample Create Food and Party Design’s new range of Spring/ Summer canapés, followed by a sit-down dinner directly underneath the last remaining tea clipper. All operational and logistical management was directed seamlessly by the Royal Museums Greenwich Events Team.

The event not only showcased Create Food and Party Design’s culinary delights but also included a number of speeches and presentations from the company’s representatives. Addressing the audience, were Teresa-Anne Dunleavy of the Concerto Group, and Create Food and Party Design’s Founder; Richard Groves who announced that he will be stepping down from his role at the end of the month. The considerable success of the company’s flagship event was a fitting way to mark the end of Groves’ influential time at Create.

Sound By Design were thrilled to be involved with this outstanding event and thoroughly look forward to working with Create and the Cutty Sark again in the future.
