D-Day 75th Commemorations

Seventy-five years ago today, lives around the world were changed for ever. The selfless actions made by thousands of allied soldiers to liberate France, helped to bring WWII to an end. It is important that we remember the enormous sacrifices made, in order that they are not repeated.

So, it is fitting that the memorial commemorations should be on a grand scale, paying tribute to Operation Neptune which was initially planned for the 5th June, but due to inclement weather, was rescheduled for the 6th June 1944.

DeltaLive is honoured to have provided over 120 channels of radio frequencies, working simultaneously, along with 224 channels of audio for the commemoration ceremonies in both Portsmouth and Normandy. Ensuring that the all-important words spoken by our Queen and of the most powerful people in the world were heard, as they pay tribute to the fallen heroes and veterans who fought that day.

Our team has been working behind the scenes for several weeks, preparing and planning. For an event of this scale we used an amazing crew of both in-house staff and freelancers, who always ensure that the show must go on.

A selection of L-Acoustics speakers and DiGiCo mixers were used to guarantee the best audio was provided.

“It is a privilege to be involved with the D-Day commemorations for HPower, on behalf of DeltaLive, I would like to thank everyone who played a part in making the remembrance ceremonies so memorable.” Mark Bonner, Managing Director, DeltaLive.
