Inaugural celebrations for P&O Cruises new ship “Britannia”

Public events, UK

We are pleased to announce that Delta Sound were appointed to supply audio services for the recent Inaugural Celebrations for P&O Cruises new ship “Britannia” at Southampton’s Ocean Cruise Terminal.  Working in conjunction with the ceremony producers and technical service providers Under the Radar, our brief consisted of providing Arena PA coverage and to generate an independent full broadcast audio mix feed of the entire event to be transmitted to P&O Cruises worldwide fleet and the international press in attendance.

The ceremony was a fun filled occasion hosted by actor Rob Brydon, with performances from The Red Hot Chili Pipers, Laura Wright and interviews with Tess Daly and Darcey Bussell.  The marching bands of the Royal Marines and Irish Guards under musical direction of Nick Grace provided ceremonial fanfares and Britain’s national Anthem.  The ship was named in the time honoured tradition of a bottle of English sparkling wine breaking over the Ship’s bow section nameplate.
