British singer-songwriter ED SHEERAN visited Dubai for a sold out concert in Dubai Media City Amphitheatre. Organised by Think Events, the show was held on 5th March. The 24 year old sensation proved that a solo artist with a guitar can easily make 10,000 crowd go crazy from the first to last moment.

Delta Sound were contracted to cover the audio requirements of the event which comprised the main PA system for touring production as well as a control (DiGiCo SD9) and monitor package for local (Adam Beluch) and touring (Ryan Keene) support acts. A selection of Shure and Sennheiser microphones and L-Acoustics 115XT HiQ wedges also formed part of the local control package.

The main system comprised of 12 K1, 6 K1-SB subs and 3 K2’s, 10 V-DOSC and 16 dV-DOSC. With 24 SB28 in a left/ right configuration covering the lower spectrum of the audio signals.

A second, far more compact system was provided at the Red Bull Activation area to enhance and capture the revelers as they embarked on their journey home.

Touring production provided their own monitor and control package.

“It was the first time we have used K2 as under-hangs and I was very pleased with the coverage as well as low end extension in comparison to the more common KARA down-fills. It’s a configuration we will be using again, most certainly” says Robert Eatock, Senior Engineer.
