The International artists arrived in Dubai to hit the stage of Dubai International Stadium at Sports City. Organised by Louder Entertainment, Delta Sound were charged to deliver and look after the main PA system, control and monitor packages for the acts.

The Canadian Grammy winner, Michael Bublé, held two shows (12 & 13 March) whilst his fellow Canadian, rapper Drake, delivered the show on 14th March at the same venue. Delta Sound Engineers still had to adjust the main system as per the artists requirements.
The main PA system and delay towers were L-Acoustics: K1 with KARA were used for the main hangs, K2 for side hangs, while DV-DOSC for front fills and SB28 subs. The main system was supplemented by four delay positions comprised of V-Dosc units.
The system setup used for the Michael Bublé & Drakewas the same, however the sub configuration varied slightly as per the requests of the artists engineers.
“Bublé’s FOH engineer, Craig Doublet, requested cardioid configuration of subs both at stage end (3 stacks of 4 per side) and at the second delay (1 stack of 4 per side), whereas Drake’s FOH engineer, Demetrius Moore, requested all the subs in 2 blocks of 16 under the main PA,” explains Al Woods, Delta’s Director in charge with the weekend events. “We had to re-time and equalise the system once the front fills and subs had been re positioned. This was an overnight job ready for the arrival of Drake in the morning. The PA had to be carefully designed to minimise reflections; the stadium has a lot of glass and plastic seats so, areas that were not “on sale” needed to be avoided with audio coverage” adds Al.
The system was controlled with a pair of Galileo 616 and powered by 21 LA-RAKs which comprised of each 3 LA8 amplifiers.
As for the monitors, Michael Bublé’s touring production brought their own system. For Drake and his supporting acts a selection of Shure microphones and Sennheiser IEMs were supplied, mixed via DiGiCo SD7.

Delta Sound also supplied event radios for the organisers and the production teams.
