Rigging The Roundhouse

If you’ve ever wondered what rigging The Roundhouse involes, here’s an exclusive, behind the scenes look! DeltaLive, as in-house sound suppliers to The Roundhouse in London, spent last week re-installing equipment, including two brand sparkling new DiGiCo SD12 desks.

At the end of 2019 all our kit came out of The Roundhouse. So, in 2020 it all needed to go back in again! The install process took place over several days. Firstly, it’s all prepped in our warehouse at DeltaLive HQ. Then it’s transported up to the venue, ready to be hung, cabled, prepped and checked.

The on-site install takes a whole day, because there isn’t just the kit to install, but all the cabling that comes with it! On this occasion we were rigging for In The Round, a slightly different set-up for a more intimate setting. Around 800 metres of cabling, 60 L-Acoustics speakers in 5 hangs and a front-fill and sub ground package to complete the sound design. Of course, there were our two brand new DiGiCo SD12 desks! We also supply a microphone and monitor selection which completes the audio package. This set-up is in place for eight shows, then we will revert back to our more standard system configuration for The Roundhouse. (Don’t worry, just as much cable.)
