The Zayed Future Energy Prize recognizes innovation and vision in the world of renewable energy and sustainability. Taking place at the prestigious Emirates Palace Hotel auditorium in Abu Dhabi, Delta Sound was appointed by HQ Creative to deliver its services for the 6th Instalment of event. This was the third time Delta Sound had been called upon to ensure a quality audio delivery to the high profile audience of royalty, presidents and the world’s leading energy minds.

This highly anticipated annual awards ceremony honoured the leading NGO’s and corporations within the field of renewable energy and featured stunning entertainment from the Human Orchestra conducted by Steve Sidwell.

For Delta Sound, the most challenging aspect of the event stemmed from the entertainment elements. The design for the system began in the studio where the audio mix and music composition was taking place for the accompanying visual elements of the orchestra’s performance. To ensure that the vocal elements engulfed the audience, Delta’s engineers opted for a quad surround sound system. The front left–right was made up of L-Acoustics dV-DOSC and the rear channels comprised of MTD108’s along the back of the auditorium.

Control for this show became quite complex particularly in terms of synching the video to the music bed and the Human Orchestra SFX. With timing and synchronicity a critical component within Sidwell’s ensemble, we striped timecode to the audio tack of the video watchout system. This in turn triggered to multitrack playbacks running on Mac as main and a back up.
