Concerts, Abu Dhabi

UAE: The Rolling Stones recently kicked off their 14 On Fire tour presented by Eastspring Investments with a performance at Abu Dhabi’s du Arena to a sell-out crowd of more than 30,000. The concert was promoted by Flash and the sound equipment was supplied by Delta Sound.

To cover the gig, Delta turned to its usual setup for shows at the arena. The rental house used its L-Acoustics K1, K1-SUB, SB28 and KARA for the main PA with dV-DOSC, V-DOSC and SB218s for delays and fills. In total, Delta supplied 24 K1 cabinets for the 12 per side hangs with the same number each of K1-SUBs and SB28s taking care of low end. Six KARA cabinets were put to use three per side as down-fill from the main hangs. Added to this were 56 V-DOSC, 12 dV-DOSC and 24 SB218 subs.

The PA was powered using L-Acoustics LA8 amps and controlled with the manufacturer’s Network Manager 2 and Meyer Sound Galileo processors. The concert was engineered by Delta’s Rob Eatock and Al Woods.

‘A great night for Flash and Abu Dhabi. I am really proud of all the guys and girls who worked the event,’ said Lee Charteris vice president – operations for Flash. ‘Great professionals, great show and a great night for 30,000 people.’
