Meet the Team – Sarah Brundell

Sarah Brundell is our trusted Venue Business Manager, looking after full technical event production within fifteen unique and historical accredited venues across London. With seventeen years’ experience in the industry Sarah has helped form Delta’s professional relationships with accredited venues. Our most recent being with Events at No 6, the home to the Royal College of Pathologists. With so many exciting projects in the pipeline we wanted to know what a day in the life at Delta is like for Sarah.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
“Outside of event life I have a passion for photography, world travel, festivals and gigs. I lived some of my childhood in France and have regular visits to see family. I am still trying to hang onto my French, I’m sure I was fluent at some time!”

What is a day in the life at Delta like for you?
“No day at Delta is ever the same for me. I can be out meeting with clients, attending site visits for upcoming events or on-site event management itself. Otherwise, back in the hub of the office, I manage our full technical event production department and team, delivering audio, video, staging and lighting services within our accredited venues. My primary objective is to manage the current relationships we have with our existing venues, as well as looking to expand and add further venues to our ever-growing list. It is a busy role but one that I love, due to the diversity of event project management and managing professional relationships with many of our wonderful clients and accredited venues.”

What do you enjoy the most about working at Delta?
“The Delta office is a fun and friendly atmosphere to work within, I love the family feel among the team. There is a sense of collaboration between the various departments to achieve the end result we all strive for; to exceed our client’s expectations from the early planning stages to event completion.”

What do you find most exciting about your role?
“Every event brief is very different to each other, I love working in a multitude of venues with different event parameters and client personalities. I enjoy finding event solutions that suit the taste of each event space. From decorative equipment to technical problem solving, I enjoy the challenges that we are sometimes faced with when delivering events in grade listed and iconic buildings. This makes for an exciting work flow and an ever-changing to-do list!”

What has been your favourite event to date?
“This is a hard question to answer, there are many factors to consider when thinking about a personal favourite event. I enjoy working alongside great charitable causes and very appreciative clients. I also enjoy the build-up and excitement of working with show stopping big brand events; however, I have to say I gained the most satisfaction from a very happy bride and groom after providing full technical production services for their wedding day at Kew Gardens. Our clients were thrilled with the transformation of their wedding spaces, both for their ceremony and reception. It’s the small touches like a personalised thank you card that go a long way! It’s not only rewarding for the satisfaction of a “job well done” but also in knowing that I was involved in helping to create the most memorable first day of a couple’s life.”

What top tip do you have for event organisers?
“The big number one that I could not live without would be a checklist! Having a detailed plan is fundamental to ensure that all elements of your event run smoothly. This will help to achieve deadlines and meet budgets. If organised with enough lead time this can remove the stress and last-minute panics which are all-too-common in the world of events. It is very important to me personally to get it right, so I make sure I envisage the event from start to finish in order to have everything covered and ultimately to take any unwanted pressure away from the client!”
