This March Delta Live got experimental in Amsterdam with Desperados.

Desperados’ Sound Stage W.T.F (Watt The Frequency) is an interactive and wholly unique D.I.Y music experiment and it is the fifth part of their Release Your Inner Tequila campaign. Held at SugarCity in Amsterdam, this was a truly unique event for both Desperados and Delta Live.

Innovation was the focus of the event, with 5 international sound systems working together for the first time, without rehearsal. Some of these sound systems, such as that owned by Dutch sculptor Olaf Mooij, were built in aesthetically urban objects such as car bodies. Also adding to the aesthetic of the night was our dark green branded flight cases, which were used as set props through the venue.

The individual sound systems were staged in the round, surrounding the expansive dancefloor and the centrepiece of the venue: the DJ booth. This layout was to give all the attendees a fully immersive sound experience, and it surely delivered.

Headlining The Event

Headlining the event was no other than Bulgarian DJ KiNK, one of the most talked about electronic house producers of the year.

The highlight of the event saw KiNK make a whole new track with his team of 5 international sound systems live on stage, creating a thoroughly interactive D.I.Y performance. Behind stage KiNK admitted neither he, nor any of the sound system teams had ever worked with or even met each other prior to the event, however they all managed to work effortlessly to create the ultimate party track.

KiNK was accompanied by UK-based sound system Channel One, Nik Nowak from Berlin, Amsterdam-based King Siloh, France-based Legal Shot and artist Olaf Mooij.

The popularity of the Do It Yourself (D.I.Y) party movement has grown enormously in recent years in Europe and beyond. Desperados is an avid supporter of this trend and offers artists and other creatives the opportunity to keep pushing the experimental boundaries.
