Immersive audio helps interactive Nike retail event create a whole new experience

DeltaLive, one of the leading authorities in immersive audio, were recently tasked by specialist creative agency XYZ, on behalf of Nike. The brief was to create a unique immersive audio experience for a Nike event held in a disused warehouse in Nine Elms, South West London.

The auditorium and artistic content lent itself to using the L-ISA technology as opposed to deploying the usual playback format of Stereo. Using the L-ISA technology (by L-Acoustics) gave the event a unique edge. The result was an engaging, immersive and bespoke consumer experience, which is so important in today’s retail market.

The L-ISA technology is the most important technological evolution in immersive sound. It is singularly the biggest change in our industry in the last 30 years. To create the audio experience, we used the three-sided video screen auditorium, incorporating a total of 15 X-Series 15’s and 4 SB8 sub woofers. This created a unique immersive space in which XYZ, on behalf of Nike, could showcase their audio and visual experience. The immersive sound-track content was created and narrated by Church of Sound. It showcased a selection of images and video clips showing diverse cultural experiences that the audience could artistically relate to.

During the day the event was open to the public where guests could design and customise the new products. This was followed by an evening event for VIP’s, invited guests and celebrity DJ’s playing within the space.
