The London International Horse Show at Olympia London

The world’s finest equestrian event returned to Olympia London this year, providing Delta with a busy run up to the Christmas period from 18th-23rd December. The show first took place in the Olympia Grand Hall in 1907, aiming to create an international equestrian event in London that would rival those of New York, Paris and Brussels. Now on it’s 111th birthday, it is one of the standout international equestrian competitions in the world, with audiences from all around the globe flocking to West London each day to see the talent on display.

Spread over seven days, the best riders from across the globe come to London to compete in Dressage, Show Jumping and Driving. With playback, live music, presentations and speeches, all of the audio concerns of the event needed to be heard with absolute clarity in every one of the 7,500 audience seats. Equally as important, a show with so many logistical concerns and animal movements required a robust comms solution so the show could run effortlessly.

Delta provided a variety of equipment to make this event a success. We provided L-Acoustics PA consisting of 4 x hangs of KARA speakers, 2 hangs of SB18 subs, 12 hangs of SB15 subs with KIVA and finally, individual X12s for the arena foldback. The network implemented was a Dante fibre network for data transport, with analogue redundancy, utilising Yamaha mixing consoles and stage racks.

For the comms side of the event, a combination of Riedel and ClearCom equipment was used, utitilising Riedel panels & matrix frames, as well as ClearCom Helixnet & FreeSpeak II packs.
